Straight men chat
The idea is that it might allow men who identify as heterosexual to indulge in their homo side, without having to label themselves as gay.BRO describes itself as the new social app for "bromance, chat, and dating - just for men." Its i Tunes description reads, "BRO goes beyond using labels, and is for men that are interested in meeting other men.As well, I wanted to move beyond the hookup culture that many apps and websites have catered to."But perhaps it's useful to question why bros aren't "welcomed" into the gay community. One of the critiques from the queer community (an essential voice to hear out when exploring nuance in sexual orientation) of both Not Gay...You want high quality images and movies showing women enjoying sexual climax, right?Orgasmaniacs gives you premiere quality photographs and movie footage of beautiful women having real orgasms.
I was inspired mainly because I felt there was a huge segment of men that don't feel welcome in the 'gay' community — be it 'bi' guys or gay men that don't fit the 'gay' stereotype.

BRO seems to take Grindr's "no fats, no fems, no Asians" profile problem and create an exclusively fit, masc (and let's be honest, probably predominantly white-privileged) space to service those folks.
As well, I wanted to move beyond the hookup culture that many apps and websites have catered to." So straight men aside, could this finally be an app where successful long term relationships can be founded? last year showed that considerable numbers of heterosexual men have engaged in sexual acts with other men.
It remains to be seen whether this is something that curious straight men will use. A book published last year, by academic Jane Ward discussed the phenomenon, giving rise to the use of the phrase 'bro-jobs' to describe oral sex between straight men.
The solution to the "no fats, no fems, no Asians" Grindr bro is not to make a separate, misogynistic, homophobic echo chamber for them to find hookups in; it's to call out, challenge, and eradicate the hateful, internalized misogyny and homophobia many bro-seeking bros suffer from.
